Brighton and Hove's first micropub

Our Story

We first opened our doors on 1 May 2015 after an inspiring visit to The Tankerton Arms, and other micropubs, in Kent with Dave and Ali (who have now moved on to pastures new). We wanted to create a warm, welcoming space where the community could meet for conversation without the distractions of music, TVs or games machines.
Our main focus is cask beer which is kept at cellar temperature in our stillage room, but we also have 2 keg lines which we use for stronger/more unusual beers. In addition, we sell alcohol- and gluten-free cans, as well as a range of real cider, wine, Prosecco and soft drinks.
The Brewery
We took over the 100L brew kit from Jack Tavare, who is now head brewer at Hand Brew Co in Worthing. Brewing takes place once a week on a day when we’re closed, and one brew produces 2 casks of beer which do tend to sell out very quickly! Some of our most popular house beers include Old Timer, Bezel Bitter, Pocketwatch Pale and Secondhand APA along with many other one-off brews. If you have any questions about the brewing process, Rick’s your man!
